WHAT CAN A FITNESS PROGRAM DO FOR ME?

Recently while at a dinner party, two friends were discussing the merits of a good fitness program. One said, he felt great after every workout; and as a result had plenty of energy to meet the tasks of the day. My other friend, who appears to be in great physical shape, claimed he never worked out in his life. I though if he doesn't he is definitely one of the lucky ones. Although as the discussion wore on I learned that he does have a very active lifestyle; and was very strict about his diet.

This discussion made me think, there may be a lot of you wondering in addition to looking good what can fitness or limited exercise do for me? It's a good question, and worth a quick look.

A good fitness program and regular exercise can do a lot of things for you. Let's take a look at some of the benefits of a simple moderate exercise program, one you do for only 30 minutes a day four or five times a week. To start with, in addition to helping you lose those unwanted pounds and helping you to tone your body, a moderate exercise program can improve your mental state, improve your appetite, even help to make you mentally sharp; and it will help to improve your sleep. A regular exercise program promotes self discipline, helps to improve your personal self image, and it can release endorphins to improve your spirits and help fight depression. In general a regular fitness program helps you physically, mentally, and emotionally. That's quite a lot from 30 minutes four or five times a week.

Fitness is life long program. The more you do it the better you feel, the better you look, and the better you perform in your daily activities. Remember our bodies are like machines, the better we maintain them the better they will operate for us. If we want to perform at peak efficiency our machine, the body, must be in top condition.

So for more reasons than one, I hope you agree with one of my favorite sayings "Stay Fit You'll Feel Better." Till next time.

Stay Fit,

Jeff
