5 Tips For Choosing High Fiber Foods
Hi Everyone,
How was your Memorial Day Weekend? Mine was busy; but beautiful.
While I was on holiday I met a group of people and as you can imagine our conversation turned at one point to fitness, specifically effective foods to eat to help in weight loss. Today there is a lot of talk about Fiber in your diet as a means to help you lose weight. I've done a great deal of research on the topic of Fiber; and I've learned that Fiber by itself does not make you lose weight. However it helps you to feel full while taking in fewer calories; and this helps to curb your hunger, resulting in potential weight loss. I published an article discussing this topic, give it a look and see what you think.
Got Fiber? Does Fiber Increase Fat Loss?
Putting Fiber into your diet never hurts so find following my 5 Tips for Choosing the best High Fiber Foods.
5 Tips For Choosing High Fiber Foods
1. Eat the Fruit instead of Drinking it. Eating apples and oranges deliver a lot more fiber and a lot fewer calories than drinking them as a juice. 2. Infuse your breakfast with some Fruit. Start your day by adding Fruit to your normal breakfasts. Eat what you normally would; however add fruits like berries to your breakfast, or melon to get that refreshing fibrous nutrient. 3. Read labels. When choosing fiber-filled foods start by checking the ingredients to ensure the first ingredient listed is a type of whole grain (ex. Whole oats). After checking the ingredients take a look at the amount of fiber you would be getting per serving, if you’re not getting at least 3 grams of fiber from things like bread or cereal, than you should be looking for a new brand for that food. 4. Eat Beans. So what if you will be sleeping on the couch for a few nights. Beans are a great source of fiber, carbohydrate and proteins, what else can you say about them. I've got one more thing, Beans are cheap, easy to find, and every stores has them. They are also very versatile when it comes to adding them to different dishes. 5. Try something new. Try new recipes that use whole grains, like whole wheat pasta or a new dish with beans. Be adventurous.
I hope this helps you choose the best Fiber for your diet. Let me know what you think. Until next time.
Stay Fit You'll Feel Better,
Jeff
